Examples of Religious Carvings on Headstones

Family Memorials by Gibson Cross with flower and leavesFor many people, their religion plays a central and defining role in their lives. It informs, on a deep level, what they value and how they live their lives. A person’s religion also greatly informs what they believe will happen to their soul once their physical bodies cease to function. For many religious people, dying is simply the end of life on this earth and the beginning of an eternal life spent in the new realm of Heaven.

With these beliefs, it’s not surprising that many people choose to convey their deep-rooted beliefs on the memorials marking their final resting places here on earth. A religious symbol, whether a cross, angel, dove or something else signals to everyone that, according to their beliefs, they are in a better place!

Religious symbols also provide a sense of comfort to the remaining loved ones by reminding them that, even though the loss of their loved one is a tremendously sad and grief-filled experience, there is a final Hope that can bring about joy amongst fellow believers and mourners who know their loved one is in a better place.

For yet others, they choose to use religious symbols and quotes from Scripture to ensure their stone is a final and permanent testimony of faith redirecting future generations from mourning their lives to rejoicing in the Hope and Promise given to all who believe.

At Family Memorials by Gibson, we strive to help everyone we serve capture their legacy in stone. If you are a man or woman of faith and would like to use your memorial stone to exhibit your all-important faith, we would love to help you do so. In fact, we have over 450 religiously themed carving designs and over 60 laser scenes ready to go. If you can’t find a pre-made carve or laser you’re happy with we’d be happy to create a custom one for you as well!

Below you can see some examples of religious carvings we have recently completed on a variety of headstones.
